Docents
Docents are enthusiastic volunteer teachers, ambassadors and tour guides who enjoy working with visitor of all ages particularly school age visitors. Comprehensive training is offered in the fall as well as monthly enrichments on the Hunter permanent collection and special exhibitions. Learn more about the Hunter Museum Docent Program here.
Greeter
Volunteers are needed to greet and welcome visitors and provide general museum information on the permanent collection, traveling exhibitions and programs. Friendly volunteers also distribute educational brochures, museum maps, conducts periodic visitor surveys and basic tourist information.
Library
Responsibilities include cataloguing books, filing brochures and catalogues. Some training will be needed in library science and on using the computerized MARCIVE programs.
Museum Store
Volunteers are needed to assist store manager and retail team to help make the museum store run smoothly. Store volunteers assist customers and help staff with inventory and stocking. Volunteers are needed throughout the weekday and weekends.
Office Assistant/All Departments
Volunteers assist various departments with the day-to-day responsibilities of keeping the museum running. Assistance is needed once or twice a week for data entry, membership mailings, filing, word processing, answering telephones and copying. On the job training is provided as needed.
