"Stimulus" Plan vs. "Escape" Plan

Visitors looking at paintingWant to stimulate your brain?  In addition to crossword puzzles, Sudoku, chess and other brain boosting activities, why not add a visit to the Hunter Museum of American Art to the list; better yet, why not also consider enrolling in one of our many art classes.  Visiting art museums and/or participating in art classes are excellent ways to challenge your mind and stimulate your senses.

On the other hand, the Hunter Museum is also a great place for relaxing, as well as a great place for escaping from the usual routines and stresses of everyday life. Escape to the sea, to the mountains, to the countryside, to another time period or even to an imaginary place by viewing works of art by George Bellows, Mary Cassatt, Willem de Kooning, Helen Frankenthaler, Childe Hassam, Robert Henri, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, George Inness, Jasper Johns, Louise Nevelson, Robert Salmon, John Singer Sargent, Andy Warhol, Abbott McNeill Whistler, Grant Wood and Andrew Wyeth, just to name a few of the artists represented in our permanent collection.

Regardless of your plan, enjoy your visit and visit often!
