Hunter Museum of American Art

Did a recent school trip to the museum inspire your students to create their own masterpieces? Share them with the museum, other schools and museum visitors.

The Hunter Museum has a wonderful space to show student art work and would love to see your school take advantage of it! The Education Studio Hall fits about 40 two-dimensional (flat) works of about 12 by 18 inches in size. The Hall can not accommodate three-dimensional pieces.

Preference for the Educational Studio Hall is given to classes who have recently visited the Museum or used the Museum collection as inspiration for a classroom art lesson.

The school is responsible for hanging student work in the Education Studio Hall and taking it down in a timely manner. Studio hall exhibitions must have a title panel with the school's name, grades represented and project descriptions where applicable. Individual art work labels with student names are optional.

The Museum can not store student work before or after the school exhibition. The Museum does not provide materials or supplies for hanging work. Thumbtacks and/or nails are usually sufficient for hanging artwork on the hall's corkboard walls. Student work is typically on display for one month.
